The incident occurred on December 26th, and shortly after United States commanders criticized Iran for it’s “highly provocative” actions. Which if you don’t remember was, firing rockets 1,500 yards away from one of our carriers in a shipping lane. The Navy recently released video of the incident where you can obviously see the report in action. The video is as follows courtesy of NBC.com
“Firing weapons so close to passing coalition ships and commercial traffic within an internationally recognized maritime traffic lane is unsafe, unprofessional, and inconsistent with international maritime law,” U.S. Central Command said in a previous statement.
I can’t tell if they are directly or indirectly giving Obama the finger by completing these “exercises” or if they just enjoy new sanctions being levied on them. One thing is for sure, “hostile” nations are continually testing the boundaries of the american military might. I wonder if they’re testing for weak spots or trying to “accidently” start a war with America.
